yourself, but your showerhead is too low. Or you share
your shower with a number of other people, each with
their own preferences. Choosing the right shower mounting
option can help you get more out of your shower. And
that’s a good thing. Because let’s face it,
a good shower is a great thing!

Standard Shower Head Mounting Options
A standard showerhead – or fixed shower head as they are
sometimes called – is designed to be mounted directly onto
a shower arm. Shower arms can be the standard type, which is
probably what you have in your shower right now. The can also
be s-shaped to raise the height of your shower, adjustable-height
so you can keep your hair dry, or get drenched from above.

Standard Shower Arm
The standard shower arm in North America has a 45-degree
bend about half way down the length of the arm. The arm
can be replaced by unscrewing it counter-clockwise. Both
ends of this type of arm are in a national thread taper
pipe called 1/2-inch NPT. The elbow behind the wall that
a shower arm connects to is most often a 1/2-inch NPT
Female type thread.

Adjustable-Height Shower Arm
The standard shower arm in North America has a 45-degree

S-Type Shower Arm
For some people, the shower head is just too low. You
may find yourself hunching over and not getting the shower’s
full effect. The S-Type shower arm was designed to raise
the height of your showerhead without a lot of extra
plumbing work. Simply replace your existing shower arm
by unscrewing it counter-clockwise, and install one of
these in its place!

Handheld shower mounting options
Handheld showerheads – sometimes called Personal Showers – offer
the most flexibility in height adjustment and mounting location.
Choose from a standard shower arm mount to replace your existing
shower head, an adjustable-height shower bar allowing you to
adjust the shower head up and down on the bar, or a wall mounted
shower head, which allows you to mount the handshower in practically
any location – even down by the tub for a tub-side shower!

The shower arm mount is the simplest way to enjoy
the benefits of a handshower. Simply unscrew your existing
showerhead and replace it with the shower arm mount.
Most handshower sets come with this very popular mounting
option.

Height-Adjustable Shower Bar
The height-adjustable shower bar is great for a shower
that’s used by people of different heights. Great
for kids! Now they can take their own shower at their height.
The hand-held showerhead is held in place by a mount on
the shower bar. The mount includes a lever or button that
releases the mount and allows you to change the height
of the showerhead. You can also bring the shower head down
if you want to keep your hair dry.

The wall mounted shower allows you to mount your shower
head in practically any location. Now you can have a shower
at your preferred height, or mount it down low for a tub
side shower! Simply connect the shower hose to your existing
shower arm. Some mounts are available with double-sided
tape. For a more permanent installation, you can install
these with screws and anchors.
